About The Well
The Well was established in Peterborough in 1996, in order to provide an 'independent' counselling service in the city.
All counselling is carried out in accordance with the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) code of ethics and practice. The Well is also a member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
Although we are a Christian charity, our services are available to people of all faiths, or none. No attempt will be made to encourage individuals to adopt Christian beliefs, principles or practices.

A professional Service
All our counsellors are qualified and provide their services on a voluntary basis.
In keeping with The Well's professional approach, they receive support and supervision as recommended by ACC and BACP - guidelines.
Our dedicated team is committed to ongoing personal development, regularly participating in a range of training events orgainsed by our Training Co-ordinator.
The Well's training is open to other local organisations and individuals and is respected for its high standard.
The Well's donations policy
Our commitment to a professional service means that the costs involved are significant.
The donations suggested charged for counselling sessions are intended to balance the need to keep the service viable whilst at the same time, accessible to all.
However, The Well has a policy by which all cases are considered on an individual basis, so no-one will be turned away because of their inability to make a donation.
At your initial free assessment appointment you will be given a copy of this donations policy and will have an oppurtunity to dicuss your individual circumstances in confidence.
Where we are
In order to increase our presence in Peterborough and to make our services easier to access, we are in the process of establishing a base at the The Westgate Centre, behind Westgate Church.
As the service is currently operating on a part-time basis, please contact us to arrange the time and location of your first appointment.
