About the Well Counselling
Counsellors at the Well
There are currently 11 people who are fully committed to offering their time voluntarily, comprising 3 male and 8 female counsellors, aged between 40 – 70 years. All counsellors are Christian, professionally qualified and bring a wide range of expertise, knowledge, skill and experience to people in need, offering confidentiality, fixed term and long term counselling.
From time to time, counsellors in training who are seeking accreditation with professional bodies approach The Well for a short term training experience.
As part of their professional development, all counsellors are required to contribute to standards of best practice by attending supervision groups at regular intervals. This ensures that counsellors are supported in their work and can receive professional guidance where necessary. These sessions are led by highly experienced and qualified supervisors.
As part of their commitment to the continuing professional development of counsellors, the Trustees provide an on-going programme of training throughout the year which is also available to counsellors from other local agencies at reasonable cost.
